About Us

Center Resources:

The "Carolina-Shaw Partnership" will create and expand an inter-university Center that will explore the use of novel, faith-based initiatives to address health disparities, education, and training students in health disparities research and facilitate Shaw University's emergence as a research University. The Center will be based jointly at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research:

University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Health Disparities Research Base - The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, the Academic unit housing the UNC-CH component of the EXPORT Center, seeks to improve the health of individuals, families, and populations by understanding the problems, issues, and alternatives in the design and delivery of health care services.

Shaw University - The first Historically Black University in the South, the Divinity School has engaged in participatory research and intervention projects through constant engagements with the General Baptist State Convention and other churches and affiliate organizations.
